5 reviews for a little tango in her blood

  1. Paula Gudmundson

Alison Young’s “A Little Tango in Her Blood” allows flutists renewed access to so many wonderful works from Argentina. Her arrangements capture wonderfully the melancholy and passion of this music, the true perfume of Argentina.

  2. Immanuel Davis

Alison Young’s idiomatic arrangements of these lovely Argentinian pieces completely capture the heart and essence of the music. This collection showcases all the aspects of flute expression, from its most lyrical to the pure hot-blooded rhythmic vitality of the Tango! These pieces make either wonderful encores or a spicy addition to a flute recital.

  3. Joshua Weinberg

Alison’s wonderful arrangements provide a much needed addition to any flutist’s music library. From saucy ballads to exciting tangos, these pieces can be performed as wonderful background music, special and exciting encores, or stand alone recital repertoire. Certainly flutists of any age will find a gem or two (or three!) in this collection.

  4. Karen Moratz

These beautiful and tasteful arrangements of music from Argentina are a labor of love on the part of Alison Young, and will be welcome additions to any flutist’s repertoire. Thank you for making these pieces accessible!

  5. Lauren McNee

Alison Young’s “A Little Tango in Her Blood” is a dazzling collection of arrangements of traditional Argentine music that is a “must-have” for every flutist’s library. Young’s music is chockfull of spicy rhythms and goose bump-inducing melodies that remind flutists and audience-members alike what is feels like to be alive.
